Role Overview

The Pharmacist is responsible for delivering high standards of pharmaceutical care through accurate and safe dispensing, professional patient counselling, and strict adherence to regulatory and company requirements. The role contributes to an integrated healthcare offering while supporting operational excellence and team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, accurate dispensing services, including generic substitution, in line with good pharmacy practice and SAPC regulations.

  • Offer professional advice and counselling to ensure optimal patient care and medication adherence.

  • Manage daily dispensary operations, including responsible stock control, shrinkage prevention, housekeeping, and administration in accordance with company and regulatory standards.

  • Oversee, mentor, and support the development of Pharmacist Assistants and Pharmacist Interns in compliance with SAPC requirements.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with clinic and healthcare teams to deliver a comprehensive healthcare solution to customers.

  • Uphold and promote the organisation’s values, contributing to the vision of being the customer’s first choice health and beauty retailer.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • BPharm Degree

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience post community service

  • Retail pharmacy experience is advantageous

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Sound knowledge of SAPC regulations and relevant pharmaceutical legislation

  • Strong customer service orientation and commitment to effective patient care

  • Professional counselling capability

  • High levels of integrity and ethical practice

  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail

  • Ability to coach, mentor, and work effectively within a team
