Job Description

Truworths is seeking a skilled General Facilities Handyperson with multi-skilled artisan experience, particularly in electrical work. This role is responsible for supporting the maintenance and repair needs across Head Office, ensuring all facilities operate efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and service all building and departmental maintenance needs

• Conduct repairs and maintenance for the building, including electrical and plumbing systems

• Inspect and repair electrical and plumbing infrastructure across two buildings

• Perform general day-to-day repairs, department moves, and ad hoc maintenance tasks

• Act as support Head Office driver when required

• Maintain and service HVAC equipment and fire protection systems

• Conduct low voltage electrical repairs, replace faulty lights, and ensure desk cabling is neat and safe

• Liaise with contractors for high voltage electrical repairs

• Perform meter readings and inspect electrical boards regularly

• Conduct weekly lighting inspections and ensure timely replacement

• Maintain generators, water supply systems, and pause areas

• Assist with meeting, training, and function setups

• Perform general carpentry, welding, and plumbing repairs

• Manage administrative tasks related to facilities maintenance and emergency repairs

Qualifications and Experience

• Qualified Electrician (single-phase)

• N2 qualification minimum

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical work

• 5+ years’ experience as a handyperson performing repairs

• Experience operating portable electrical tools

• Basic carpentry and welding skills

• General plumbing repair experience

• EB driver’s license required
