Pick n Pay Careers is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Manager Clothing Store to lead our clothing department. This role oversees all aspects of store operations, people management, and customer experience, ensuring performance and standards are consistently achieved.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent
- Previous managerial experience
- Computer literate (MS Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Teams/Zoom)
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and stocktakes after hours
- Flexibility to be relocated between stores if required
- Ability to perform hands-on, physical tasks

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Journey:
- Maintain a customer-centric approach and ensure service standards are consistently applied
- Attend to all customer service requests and promote products and services
- Ensure visual merchandising standards are met and all promotional plans are executed
People Management:
- Manage all staff-related functions, including recruitment, training, and performance management
- Address employee performance and conduct issues when necessary
- Support talent development and succession planning initiatives
- Lead, motivate, and develop the team to achieve store and departmental goals
Daily Operations, Stock & Risk Management:
- Open and close the store according to security procedures
- Conduct start and end-of-day reporting and administration
- Manage staff scheduling, leave, invoicing, pricing, costs, banking, expense control, and reconciliations according to company standards
- Ensure merchandise is received, captured, packed, merchandised, and displayed per policy
- Monitor product quality, control shrinkage, and prevent merchandise damage
- Maintain compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards
Sales & Promotions:
- Drive sales to achieve budgets, monitor turnover, and track participation
- Execute promotions, implement markdowns, and manage RTCs
