Back Door Specialist

Purpose of the Job
The Back Door Specialist is responsible for visiting assigned stores and distribution centres to ensure smooth operations and minimise operational failures. The role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with store and distribution centre teams, managing back door processes, and resolving operational issues between back doors and Value operations.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Management

• Build, manage, and maintain effective relationships with back door teams at stores and distribution centres.
• Conduct monthly visits to each assigned back door to monitor operations and ensure compliance.
• Provide support to back door teams, resolving operational issues in collaboration with Value operations.

Operational Oversight

• Understand and monitor all back door processes, including receipt, dispatch, and returns, to ensure smooth stock flow.
• Maintain and update back door and distribution centre requirements on a monthly basis.
• Monitor, improve, and increase turnaround times at back doors.
• Manage bookings to ensure smooth vehicle offloading, escalating potential delays as required.
• Drive the adoption of technology and system integrations to enhance operational efficiency.
• Implement procedures to reduce returns and improve compliance with operational standards.

Problem-Solving & Analysis

• Identify discrepancies and analyse operational data to support process improvements.
• Ensure timely completion of all required actions and resolutions according to set deadlines.
• Work proactively to address challenges that may impact back door efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Logistics, Supply Chain, or Warehouse qualification beneficial
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in retail and distribution centre back door operations, audits, and problem-solving delayed offloading
• Own reliable transport
