About the Role
Tekkie Town has an exciting opportunity available for a Maintenance Admin Assistant to join the Operations Maintenance Support team on a 2-month fixed-term contract. This role supports the efficient maintenance and upkeep of Tekkie Town stores by coordinating repairs, managing maintenance requests, and assisting with administrative tasks related to store facilities and projects.
The successful candidate will provide important operational support to ensure store maintenance requirements are addressed promptly. The ideal individual is self-motivated, energetic, and organized, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Code EB driver’s license (required)
- Preferably at least 2 years of retail experience in a similar role
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Knowledge of generators, inverters, and power-related systems
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills
- High energy level with a performance-driven attitude
- Computer literacy and strong numeracy skills
- Effective planning, organizing, and time management abilities
- Ability to multitask, show initiative, and maintain strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- General understanding of maintenance processes and store-related projects
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate approvals for shop uplift requests and repair work
- Arrange and coordinate contractors for repairs both inside and outside store locations
- Organize window replacements through PG Glass for stores
- Coordinate contractors for maintenance activities and future store projects
- Provide support for maintenance-related calls, emails, filing, orders, and finance payment preparations
- Manage contractor quotes, invoices, and purchase orders
- Support stores by arranging dispatch of equipment such as vacuums, amplifiers, speakers, and lights
- Arrange pest control services for stores, distribution centres, and the support centre
- Assist stores with signage-related issues and respond to related queries
- Update signage reports on a weekly basis
- Ensure correct pay point codes are applied to orders and process uplifts for payment
- Participate in the weekend standby roster as scheduled
