About the Program
Rand Water, in partnership with Govan Mbeki Local Municipality, invites suitably qualified and unemployed graduates to join a three-year Graduate Internship Programme. This programme offers practical experience and professional development aligned with the graduate’s field of study, preparing participants for future career opportunities and professional registration.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in the relevant discipline from an accredited university (e.g., BSc Geomatics, BSc Geo Informatics, BSc Honours/Masters Geo Informatics)
• Unemployed and seeking practical work experience
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence (advantageous)
• South African citizen with a valid SA ID
• Under 35 years of age (aligned with NSDS III)
• Academic record aligned with requirements for professional registration with relevant statutory councils (ECSA, SAGC, SACPLAN, SACNASP, SACPCMP)
• Registration as a candidate with the relevant councils (advantageous)
• Appointments made in accordance with Employment Equity

Primary Duties

• Apply knowledge from field of study in practical work assignments
• Demonstrate proficiency as required by statutory councils during the internship
• Communicate effectively at all organisational levels
• Plan and organise workloads to deliver results efficiently
• Contribute to team objectives and support workplace projects

Knowledge

• Understanding of Rand Water’s mandate and its contribution to the water sector

Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication
• Ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practical contexts

Attitude

• Self-motivated, results-driven, and proactive
• Team-oriented with a commitment to learning and professional development
