Job Description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a qualified Beauty Therapist to join their Beauty Salon team in Pretoria. The successful candidate will promote awareness of the wide range of skincare and body treatments available at Dis-Chem Beauty Salons while delivering professional treatments and exceptional customer care. This role requires strong client interaction skills and the ability to maintain high service standards during all treatments.

Minimum Requirements

Essential

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Relevant 2-year National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Minimum of 12 months’ technical and practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment
• Computer literate
• Strong numerical skills
• Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous

• Relevant 3-year National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy
• Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional salon experience to all customers
• Perform professional treatments including facials, waxing, massages, manicures, and pedicures according to Dis-Chem standards
• Respond to and provide feedback on customer queries, complaints, and compliments
• Stay updated on new skincare products, treatments, and service techniques
• Manage and maintain salon stock levels according to operational requirements
• Ensure all salon equipment is clean, functional, and sanitized at all times

Competencies

Essential Skills

• Good knowledge of skin anatomy, physiology, and contraindications for skin and body treatments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Excellent teamwork and customer service abilities
• Target-driven and able to work under deadlines

Advantageous Skills

• Experience with soft laser, Bio-Magnetic therapy, microdermabrasion, slimming treatments, and spray tanning
• Training in laser or other advanced salon equipment
• Bilingual communication skills

Special Conditions of Employment

• Willing and able to work retail hours
• Able to travel to and from the store
• Physically fit to perform massage, facial, and body treatments
• South African citizen
• Clear criminal and credit record
