Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa is offering an exciting opportunity within the Sales department for a skilled and motivated Account Manager. This position, based in George, will report directly to the Sales Manager and focuses on driving profitable growth and strong customer relationships within a designated territory.

Purpose of the Role
The Account Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing account plans that support the profitable sale of CCBSA products. This includes growing customer relationships, ensuring exceptional customer service, and identifying new business opportunities to achieve brand loyalty and volume growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic account plans aligned with business objectives

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market presence

  • Maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers

  • Conduct regular account reviews to assess performance and growth potential

  • Manage account profitability and monitor execution across the trade

  • Maintain assets and ensure optimal product placement and equipment utilization

  • Accurately generate and manage customer orders

  • Execute promotional campaigns effectively in line with company standards

  • Oversee credit and cash accounts, ensuring timely payments and credit compliance

  • Gather market intelligence, monitor competitor activities, and submit reports

Knowledge and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of sales and marketing practices

  • Familiarity with CCBSA product range and trade service principles

  • Knowledge of merchandising, cooler management, and order cycles

  • Basic financial and commercial acumen

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills

  • Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills

  • Confident negotiator and relationship builder

  • Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Adaptable, proactive, and open to change

  • Resilient under pressure with a strong drive for results

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric with a completed 3-year qualification in Sales, Marketing, or a related field

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an FMCG sales or marketing role

  • Valid Code 08 driver’s license

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or willing to upskill in digital tools
