Job Description
The position of Area Manager is vacant at Midrand, reporting to the Branch Manager of Midrand. This role is responsible for managing several Operations Managers and overseeing key areas such as client liaison, HR/IR matters, fleet management, expenses control, investigations, site coverage, and ensuring that security requirements are adhered to while meeting client needs professionally and efficiently.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric/Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent

  • PSIRA Grade A registration (valid)

  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the security industry

  • At least 5 years of experience in an Operational Security Management role

  • Working knowledge of the Firearm Act and firearm competency

  • Experience in staff management

  • Computer literacy, with expert knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • No criminal record or any pending cases

  • Strong planning, administration, interpersonal communication, and client liaison skills

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

  • Financial management skills

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System

Key Performance Areas

  • Maintain good relations between Fidelity Security Services Group and the client with regard to the security services provided

  • Manage allocated areas to ensure contractual requirements are met as per client specifications

  • Ensure that all security officers on site meet the client’s contractual requirements

  • Evaluate service levels continuously and make recommendations for service improvements

  • Supervise security staff to ensure that performance meets expectations

  • Handle all administrative tasks associated with the role

  • Liaise daily with management on operational issues

  • Communicate daily with regional management on operational matters

  • Address HR-related queries promptly

  • Formulate and implement disciplinary actions when necessary

  • Ensure timely submission of employment forms to the Regional Office

  • Submit relevant weekly/monthly incident and general reports to management

  • Investigate incidents and report accordingly
