Responsibilities
The role of Artisan: Millwright at our Parow Plant Snacks is essential to ensure the optimal functioning of plant equipment, aiming for maximum reliability and minimal downtime. The role involves routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and resolving any equipment breakdowns to meet the plant’s operational goals.
Key responsibilities include:

Conducting Inspections: Inspecting machinery and equipment, ensuring compliance with OEM standards, and monitoring equipment performance to maintain plant availability.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Using both electrical and mechanical expertise to troubleshoot, test, and resolve equipment issues. This involves dismantling and replacing defective electrical or mechanical parts.

Preventive Maintenance: Performing regular inspections and maintenance on all electrical distribution equipment, such as motors, generators, circuit breakers, and power control panels.

Planned Maintenance: Ensuring all scheduled maintenance tasks are completed on time, adhering to safety protocols and GMP standards to maintain high plant availability.

Breakdown Management: Attending to electrical and mechanical plant breakdowns, conducting diagnoses, and minimizing disruptions to plant operations.

Documentation: Keeping accurate records of maintenance work and updating parts/spares inventories.
Qualifications
-
Trade-tested as a Millwright (Mechanical/Electrical)

3 years of post-apprenticeship experience in an FMCG environment or recognition of prior learning

Solid knowledge of automated systems

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Ability to work with a diverse workforce and adhere to safety and environmental protocols
