Mr Price is looking for a motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in overseeing the daily operations of our Mr Price Money Cellular store in Amanzimtoti. This role plays a key part in achieving store targets, maintaining operational excellence, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Management

Ensure stock is accurately received, unpacked, merchandised, and replenished on the sales floor.

Monitor and manage stock levels through regular stock counts and action plans to prevent loss and maintain optimal stock availability.

Oversee stockroom maintenance and ensure it meets company housekeeping standards.

Assist in authorising write-offs, returns, OBFs (Out of Box Failures), breakages, recalls, and cellular repairs.
Sales Growth and Profitability

Analyse sales and profitability reports to identify areas for improvement and collaborate on operational plans to enhance store performance.

Monitor in-store product performance and provide feedback to the support centre to drive sales.

Identify and act on opportunities for growth through in-store marketing, competitor analysis, and brand awareness activities.

Support in driving credit, insurance, mobile, and cellular sales to meet or exceed targets.
Risk Management

Assist with store compliance through regular checks such as admin reviews, audits, COMO reports, and adherence to health and safety standards.

Enforce company policies and procedures to maintain operational and legal compliance.
Customer Experience Management

Support the implementation of all customer experience initiatives including pricing changes, promotions, markdowns, and feedback processes.

Ensure visual merchandising, housekeeping, and store standards align with brand expectations and enhance the customer journey.
Leadership and Development

Help lead the team to achieve store KPIs and align operational execution with company values.

Identify training and development needs to strengthen team capabilities and support succession planning.

Assist in recruitment, staff performance management, and implementing HR policies within the store.
Qualifications and Experience
-
NQF Level 4 (Grade 12) or equivalent.

Minimum 3 years’ retail experience, with management experience being an advantage.

Strong understanding of sales and service operations.

Budgeting and basic financial management skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with systems and reporting.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of retail trade, cellular and mobile products, insurance, new account processes, and customer service.
