Job Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a proactive Assistant Store Manager Pool for their Gauteng stores. The role involves assisting the Store Manager with overall store operations, managing staff, achieving store targets, maintaining inventory, and preparing reports through data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily human resource administration, including leave, scheduling, and hours of work

  • Oversee performance management and ensure adherence to personal development plans

  • Ensure all orders are placed daily and maintain accurate stock levels

  • Manage stock flow to the sales floor and coordinate biannual stock takes with the Store Admin Manager

  • Monitor and manage shrinkage

  • Address customer compliments and complaints promptly

  • Ensure merchandisers comply with Dis-Chem merchandising standards

  • Plan, implement, and maintain promotional stock and displays

  • Adhere to all labelling, pricing, and layout standards, ensuring compliance by merchandisers

  • Ensure store objectives are consistently met

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Retail/FMCG, covering all retail functions: Receiving, Administration, Cash Office, and Sales Floor Management

  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role

  • At least 2 years’ experience with Unisolv / SAP / Qlikview

  • Previous experience with Kronos

Advantageous

  • Relevant retail or FMCG qualification

Core Competencies

  • Strong retail administration and management skills, including stock control, cash office, and customer service

  • Effective communication and strong command of the English language

  • Basic financial knowledge (GP, mark-up, VAT)

  • Ability to interact effectively with suppliers, management, representatives, and staff

  • Strong analytical, planning, and time-management skills

  • Ability to manage, develop, and motivate subordinates

  • Trustworthy and honest

Special Conditions of Employment

  • Local travel with valid driver’s license and reliable transport
