Mr Price Vacancies – Assistant Store Manager – Port Elizabeth
Mr Price is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in overseeing the daily operations of a Mr Price Money Cellular store. This role focuses on delivering an excellent customer experience, achieving sales targets, and ensuring operational excellence across all aspects of the store.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Management:

Ensure accurate receiving and unpacking of stock to merchandise and replenish the sales floor.

Maintain stock levels through regular stock counts, stock takes, and implementation of stock loss prevention measures.

Oversee stockroom housekeeping standards.

Assist with authorising write-offs, breakages, returns, and handling of out-of-box failures and repairs.
Sales Growth & Profitability:

Analyse store performance and collaborate on action plans to boost sales and reduce expenses.

Monitor in-store product performance and provide feedback to the support team.

Identify opportunities to grow sales through in-store marketing, competitor analysis, and local engagement.

Drive credit, insurance, mobile, and cellular sales to achieve budget targets.
Risk Management:

Support the Store Manager in conducting regular compliance checks including audits, reports, safety standards, and security procedures to ensure full policy adherence.
Customer Experience:

Maintain high customer service standards by implementing business instructions, markdowns, promotional activity, and visual merchandising guidelines.
Leadership & Development:
-
Lead the team to meet key performance indicators and align operations with company values.

Identify development needs, deliver training, and support succession planning.

Assist with recruitment and performance management in line with company policy.
Qualifications and Requirements
-
Grade 12 (NQF level 4) or equivalent.

Minimum of 3 years’ retail experience (management experience is an advantage).

Strong understanding of sales and service management, budgeting, and retail operations.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and internal systems.
-
Effective communication skills.
-
Knowledge of cellular, mobile, credit, insurance products, and customer service.
