Mr Price Vacancies – Assistant Store Manager Sheet

Mr Price is looking for a dedicated and proactive Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in the smooth execution of daily operations. This role focuses on achieving store targets, optimizing team performance, and enhancing the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Stockroom Operations
Receive and unpack deliveries to replenish and merchandise the sales floor.
Audit stock boxes accurately and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain stockroom cleanliness and organization to meet housekeeping standards.

Administration
Implement store policies and ensure full operational compliance.
Adhere to health and safety practices to reduce in-store risks.
Manage and file documentation in line with the Document Retention Policy.

Sales Floor Management
Ensure timely opening and closing of the store.
Maintain a clean and inviting sales environment including windows, entrance, and cash desk.
Schedule staff presence effectively to meet customer service demands.
Conduct daily floor walks and implement improvements.
Monitor promotions and visual merchandising updates.
Perform monthly bay counts for space optimization.

Cash Desk Management
Ensure all systems, tools, and stationery needed for trading are available.
Manage till floats and ensure accurate issuing.
Maintain cleanliness and order at the cash desk.
Oversee sales, returns, and banking processes to minimize risk.

People Management
Manage employee processes using internal systems like mrpFlow.
Approve timesheets on Dayforce to align staffing with store needs.
Apply HR policies consistently, including performance and disciplinary procedures.
Foster a service-oriented culture that reflects the brand’s values.
Address customer complaints professionally and ensure timely resolutions.

Stock Management
Monitor stock levels and adjust based on demand.
Provide product performance feedback to the planning team to drive sales.

Stock Takes
Conduct cyclical stock takes as scheduled.
Perform financial stock takes in cases of high shrinkage.
Complete burglary stock assessments within 30 days of any incident.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12

  • 1 to 3 years of retail management experience

  • Strong retail operations and customer service knowledge

  • Computer literacy required
