Purpose of the Job
The Back Door Specialist is responsible for visiting allocated stores and distribution centres to ensure smooth operations and minimise failures. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with store and DC teams, monitoring processes, resolving operational issues, and driving efficiency at the back door.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with back door teams at stores and distribution centres.
- Conduct monthly visits to all assigned back doors to ensure operational compliance.
- Understand processes from receipt to dispatch, including returns, to ensure smooth stock handling.
- Maintain and update back door and DC requirements on a monthly basis.
- Support back door teams by addressing issues and coordinating with Value operations for resolution.
- Ensure all actions are completed within set deadlines.
- Monitor, improve, and increase turnaround times at the back door.
- Manage and ensure smooth processing of bookings, escalating potential delays in offloading Value vehicles.
- Drive implementation of technology and system integrations to improve procedures and efficiency.
- Implement procedures to minimise stock returns and losses.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field is advantageous
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in retail or distribution centre back door audits and problem-solving delayed offloading
- Own transport
