Value is looking for a proactive and solutions-driven Back Door Specialist to support the efficient functioning of retail store and distribution centre (DC) back door operations. The role is responsible for ensuring smooth stock flow, resolving operational issues, and strengthening relationships between back door teams and internal Value operations. This position plays a vital role in minimising delays, improving turnaround times, and driving operational compliance.
Purpose of the Role
The Back Door Specialist will be responsible for visiting assigned stores and DCs regularly to monitor processes, support issue resolution, and ensure all back door operations—from stock receipt to dispatch and returns—are aligned with company standards. The role requires consistent engagement with stakeholders, driving improvements, and supporting the adoption of technology to enhance efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain strong relationships with back door teams at retail stores and distribution centres

Conduct monthly visits to each assigned back door to assess and support operations

Understand and monitor the full back door process, including stock receiving, dispatch, and return flows, ensuring full compliance

Maintain and update back door and DC operational requirements monthly

Act as the link between back door teams and internal Value operations, managing and resolving issues effectively

Ensure all corrective actions and initiatives are completed within agreed deadlines

Monitor and improve turnaround times at the back door, identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions

Oversee booking processes and escalate issues that could delay offloading of Value vehicles

Encourage and support the use of digital systems and integrations to streamline back door processes

Support the reduction of returns by identifying root causes and improving procedures
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 (Matric)
-
Qualification in logistics, warehousing, or a related field is advantageous
-
Minimum 2 years of experience in retail or distribution back door operations, audits, and resolving offloading delays
-
Must have own transport
