Dischem Vacancies – Beauty Therapist Talent Pool

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is actively building a talent pool of skilled Beauty Therapists for potential future opportunities across their various stores. The goal of this strategic talent pool is to maintain a pre-screened group of individuals with the required skills, qualifications, and attributes for upcoming job openings.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).

  • A 2-year relevant National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy.

  • At least 12 months of technical or practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment.

  • Computer literate.

  • Strong numerical skills.

  • Willingness and ability to work retail hours.

Advantageous:

  • A 3-year relevant National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy.

  • At least 3 years of technical or practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide customers with an exceptional salon experience.

  • Perform facials, waxing, massages, manicures, and pedicures following Dis-Chem’s standards.

  • Address customer queries, complaints, and compliments, providing feedback as needed.

  • Stay updated on new products, treatments, and service techniques.

  • Manage stock levels to meet Dis-Chem Salon’s needs.

  • Ensure all equipment is operational, sanitary, and well-maintained at all times.

Key Competencies:

Essential:

  • Strong knowledge of skin anatomy, physiology, and contraindications for skin and body treatments.

  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken).

  • Strong team player with good customer relations skills.

  • Deadline and target-driven approach.

Advantageous:

  • Experience with soft laser, Bio-Magnetic treatments, microdermabrasion, slimming treatments, and spray tanning.

  • Additional training with laser or other salon equipment.

  • Bilingual.

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Willingness and ability to work retail hours.

  • Ability to travel to and from the store.

  • Physical fitness to perform massage, facials, and body treatments.

  • South African citizen.

  • Clear credit and criminal record.
