Dischem Vacancies – Beauty Therapist

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for an experienced Beauty Therapist to join their team at the Hartbeespoort store. The role involves promoting a wide range of skincare and body treatments offered in Dis-Chem Beauty Salons, while ensuring excellent client care and professional treatment execution.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).

  • A 2-year relevant National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy.

  • At least 12 months of technical or practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment.

  • Computer literacy.

  • Sound numerical skills.

  • Willingness and ability to work retail hours.

Advantageous:

  • A 3-year relevant National or International Certificate or Diploma in Beauty Therapy.

  • At least 3 years of technical or practical experience in a professional beauty salon environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide customers with a top-tier salon experience.

  • Perform facials, waxing, massages, manicures, and pedicures following Dis-Chem’s standards.

  • Address and provide feedback on customer queries, complaints, and compliments.

  • Stay informed on new products, treatments, and service techniques.

  • Manage stock levels in accordance with Dis-Chem Salon’s requirements.

  • Ensure that all relevant equipment is operational and sanitary at all times.

Key Competencies:

Essential:

  • General knowledge of skin anatomy, physiology, and contraindications for skin/body treatments.

  • Strong command of English (both written and spoken).

  • Ability to work well as part of a team and build strong customer relations.

  • Deadline and target-driven.

Advantageous:

  • Experience with soft laser and Bio-Magnetic treatments, microdermabrasion, slimming treatments, and spray tanning.

  • Any additional training with laser or salon equipment.

  • Bilingual skills.

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Willingness and ability to work retail hours.

  • Ability to travel to and from the store.

  • Physically fit and capable of performing massage, facial, and body treatments.

  • South African citizen.

  • Clear credit and criminal record.
