Reports to: Regional General Manager / General Manager

Overall Purpose of the Job:
The Branch Manager is responsible for managing all functions within the branch, including sales, marketing, operations, technical, and administrative responsibilities. The role requires maintaining high operational standards, achieving growth targets, meeting deadlines, and ensuring profitability while working to reduce crime levels in the area.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Post-matric qualification in General Management (advantageous)

  • Sales, Marketing, or Management diploma (advantageous)

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a mid-management position

  • Strong financial knowledge of budgets, forecasting, and profit and loss statements

  • Grade B Security Certificate (existing or to be obtained upon appointment)

  • Experience in the security industry is preferred

Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership:

  • Provide strong and consistent leadership for the branch and its employees

  • Communicate the branch’s vision, strategy, and performance with passion

  • Make timely, strategic decisions for the long-term development and success of the branch

Finance, Planning & Controls:

  • Develop and submit budget plans and targets, ensuring they are consistently met

  • Submit annual business plans, operating, and sales budgets in line with regional requirements

  • Ensure accurate financial forecasting for the branch

  • Manage Branch P&L to ensure profitability and achieve growth targets

  • Oversee collections and ensure efficient financial processes

Sales:

  • Achieve branch sales targets

  • Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers to conduct sales projections by geographical area

  • Set and manage sales and growth targets

  • Analyze sales data to provide actionable insights for decision-making

  • Support and guide Sales Consultants to achieve their targets

  • Ensure debtors control is in place for new clients and installations

  • Handle client complaints and resolve issues effectively

Dealer and IIP’s:

  • Achieve monthly sales targets for Dealers and IIPs

  • Recruit and onboard additional Dealers and IIPs within the branch’s footprint

  • Integrate Dealers and IIPs into the branch’s strategic plan, providing support to meet branch targets

Operations:

  • Establish and monitor planning and production controls for the branch

  • Improve business functions to increase productivity, quality, and customer service while reducing costs

  • Foster a customer-focused, quality improvement culture

  • Regularly monitor customer service metrics and take prompt corrective actions as needed

  • Maintain service levels across the branch

  • Drive a proactive, community-focused service approach

  • Manage the branch fleet to ensure no disruptions due to vehicle issues

  • Oversee operational excellence with the help of Area Managers

  • Personally handle client visits for contact crimes

Health, Safety, and Environment:

  • Enforce health & safety policies and working procedures

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, South African laws, and corporate guidelines

Marketing:

  • Lead all marketing initiatives within the branch

  • Address customer feedback from perception surveys

  • Build a strong social media presence for the branch and establish relationships with influencers

  • Promote a culture of content creation to maintain relevance in social media

  • Ensure effective OTT (Over The Top) strategies are implemented

Commercial:

  • Regularly review customer needs and feedback

  • Maintain frequent communication with customers

  • Collaborate closely with the branch sales team

  • Explore new market and product opportunities

  • Foster an environment that encourages creative, commercially viable solutions to customer demands

People Management:

  • Identify staff training and development needs and provide coaching

  • Handle all HR-related tasks, including recruitment and staff development

  • Complete necessary paperwork for staff recruitment or terminations

Business Development:

  • Collaborate with operational managers to identify Residential Guarding and bulk sale opportunities

  • Create proposals for bulk business/Residential Guarding sites

  • Drive community involvement through operational collaborations

  • Oversee the profitability of Residential Guarding schemes

Attrition Management:

  • Manage all aspects of customer attrition

  • Drive reconnections within the branch

  • Analyze branch attrition and implement mitigation strategies

  • Manage sales channels to minimize exposure to bad debt and financial difficulties

  • Proficient in MS Office, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Strong knowledge of operations, sales, technical, and administrative functions
