Reports to: Regional General Manager / General Manager

Overall Purpose of the Job:
The Branch Manager Garsfontein is responsible for overseeing the management of sales, marketing, operations, technical, and administrative functions within the branch. The role involves maintaining high operational standards, growing the branch, meeting deadlines, achieving budgets, and reducing crime levels within the area.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Post-matric qualification in General Management (advantageous)

  • Sales, Marketing, or Management diploma (advantageous)

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience at a Mid-Management level

  • Financial knowledge in Budgets, Forecasting, and Profit and Loss

  • Grade B Security Certificate (existing or to be obtained upon appointment)

  • Experience in the Security Industry (preferred)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Provide strong leadership for the branch and its employees

  • Communicate the branch’s vision and strategy with passion

  • Make timely decisions that ensure long-term success and development of the branch

Finance, Planning & Controls:

  • Submit budget plans and targets for each branch facet, ensuring they are continually met

  • Prepare annual business plans, operating, and sales budgets in accordance with regional requirements

  • Manage accurate forecasting for the branch in collaboration with Finance

  • Oversee Branch P&L to sustain profitability and achieve growth

  • Manage effective collections for the branch

Sales:

  • Achieve branch sales targets

  • Work with the Regional Sales Managers to conduct sales projections by geographical area

  • Set and manage sales and growth targets

  • Analyze sales data and provide insights to aid decision-making

  • Assist Sales Consultants in reaching sales targets

  • Ensure proper debtors control for new clients and installations

  • Handle client complaints effectively

Dealer and IIP’s:

  • Meet monthly sales targets for Dealers and IIPs

  • Recruit and onboard new Dealers and IIPs within the region/branch footprint

  • Include Dealers and IIPs in the branch strategic plan and provide support to achieve branch budgets

Operations:

  • Establish planning and production controls as a key management tool

  • Improve productivity, quality, and customer service while reducing costs

  • Develop a customer-focused, quality improvement culture

  • Monitor customer service metrics regularly and take prompt actions when needed

  • Ensure service levels throughout the branch are maintained

  • Drive a community-driven, proactive service approach

  • Manage branch fleet to avoid disruptions due to vehicles being off the road

  • Supervise operational Area Managers to ensure excellence

  • Attend client visits for contact crimes personally

Health, Safety and Environment:

  • Maintain and enforce health & safety policies and working procedures

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, South African laws, codes of practice, and corporate guidelines

Marketing:

  • Lead all marketing activations within the branch

  • Address issues highlighted in customer perception surveys

  • Strengthen the branch’s social media presence and establish relationships with influencers

  • Promote a culture of “content-creation” to remain relevant in the social media space

  • Ensure that OTT strategies are implemented effectively

Commercial:

  • Regularly review customer requirements and feedback

  • Maintain consistent communication with customers

  • Work closely with the branch sales team

  • Identify new market and product opportunities

  • Develop creative and commercially viable solutions to technical customer demands

People Management:

  • Identify training and development needs and provide coaching

  • Manage all HR-related issues, including recruitment and staff development

  • Complete necessary paperwork for staff recruitment, terminations, or new positions

Business Development:

  • Identify Residential Guarding and bulk sale opportunities with operational managers

  • Generate proposals for bulk business/Residential Guarding sites

  • Drive community involvement through operational collaborations

  • Manage the profitability of Residential Guarding schemes

Attrition Management:

  • Manage all aspects of attrition to retain clients

  • Drive reconnections within the branch

  • Analyze branch attrition and plan mitigating actions

  • Manage sales channels to minimize exposure to bad debt and financial difficulties
