Dischem Vacancies – Cashier Development Trainer
Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Midrand is seeking a Cashier Development Trainer to join the Cape Town Head Office team. This role is responsible for facilitating and conducting training for Point-of-Sale (POS) employees. The trainer will also provide support to Dis-Chem stores regarding POS queries, updates, and any changes.
Minimum Requirements:
Essential:
-
Grade 12 / Matric.
-
Certificate in Facilitation.
-
2 to 3 years of training/facilitation experience in the retail industry.
Advantageous:
-
1 to 2 years of experience working as a Cashier.
-
Tertiary qualification in Education, Training, and Development (Moderator, Assessment, and Facilitation).

Knowledge of cashier operations, retail systems, and SAP.
Job Description:

Ensure POS employees receive continuous training and coaching based on business requirements.

Conduct training needs analysis for POS staff to identify productivity gaps.

Demonstrate the use of equipment, including operating computer systems and leading group discussions.

Conduct assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.

Use surveys, questionnaires, interviews, and observation to evaluate training and plan for future courses.

Support the team leader with forecasting future training needs and addressing them accordingly.

Keep POS employees informed of all departmental changes.

Maintain accurate records of all training activities and submit training registers to the Learning & Development Department.

Order training materials and ensure timely printing and distribution.

Ensure accurate data capturing and timely completion of all documentation.

Stay informed on weekly cash-up variances, customer service complaints and compliments, and shrinkage to identify any training needs and report irregularities.

Compile training reports and offer recommendations for improvement.

Ensure effective verbal and written communication with all relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.

Report concerns to the relevant individuals and escalate unresolved issues to senior management.
