Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated Cashier to join our team at Food Lovers Market. As a Cashier, you play a crucial role in providing an excellent shopping experience for our customers. Your responsibilities will include accurately handling transactions, maintaining a clean work environment, and offering top-notch customer service. You will report directly to the Till Supervisor and be required to work flexible shifts, including Sundays and Public Holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Cashier, your daily tasks will include:
- Operating an electronic point-of-sale (POS) system with an attached scale.
- Ringing up all products accurately and ensuring the correct change is given to customers.
- Maintaining balanced payment methods during cash-ups.
- Keeping the till area clean and hygienic.
- Delivering exceptional, friendly customer service.
- Gaining knowledge of products on sale and their respective product codes.
- Staying informed about all promotions and advertisements.
- Communicating effectively and managing your time efficiently, especially during peak hours.
Requirements:
To be eligible for this role, you must have:
- Matric certificate.
- Experience working as a Cashier.
- Proficiency in English.
- A clear criminal record.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, the following will be advantageous:
- South African citizenship.
- Residing within 15km of the job location.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cashier.
