Dischem Vacancies – Casual Cashier – Mall of Africa
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking experienced Casual Cashiers for their Mall of Africa store in Midrand. The primary role is to provide excellent customer service at the point of sale, ensuring a world-class shopping experience. Casual Cashiers will be responsible for accurately recording customer transactions on the Dis-Chem operating system, in line with company policies and standard operating procedures, with a strong focus on preventing inaccuracies and fraud.
Essential Requirements:

Grade 12 / Matric
-
At least 6 months of cashier/till operations experience
-
Computer literate (MS Office)
-
Strong numerical skills
-
Proficient in English (written and verbal)
-
Basic customer service knowledge
-
Willing and able to work retail hours
Key Responsibilities:
-
Adhere to Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures
-
Establish a professional relationship with customers
-
Report customer complaints and compliments to the Frontline Supervisor or store management
-
Maintain the required customer turnover hourly rate
-
Be knowledgeable about current sales and promotions
-
Ensure colleagues and customers are not exposed to any risk
-
Implement and uphold Dis-Chem’s 5-star communication principles
-
Manage cash flow responsibly
-
Ensure that all line voids and price changes are approved and signed off by the supervisor
-
Exchange merchandise and process returns as authorized
-
Transact all payments (cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons, etc.) accepted by Dis-Chem
-
Process loyalty cards, including those from accelerator partners such as Discovery Health Care, Medihelp Lifestage, Momentum Multiply, Legacy Lifestyle, ABSA Rewards, and eBucks

Ensure cash is securely placed in the drop safe, following Dis-Chem’s SOPs
-
Maintain security of your code and password, ensuring regular updates and limited use
-
Ensure all outgoing stock/items/scripts are scanned and paid for
-
Safeguard money securely within the till and handle daily takings confidentially, sharing details only with management
-
Be vigilant and report any suspicious behavior to management
-
Address queries regarding store merchandise
-
Adhere to Dis-Chem’s security policies and procedures
