Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Casual Frontshop Assistant for their Majik Forest store. This role is focused on maintaining merchandising standards and providing excellent customer service at the point of sale in accordance with Dis-Chem policies and procedures.
Essential:

Grade 12 – Matric or Senior Certificate

Job Description:

Ensure that a full range of products is always available on the shelves and is neatly presented.
-
Monitor stock levels to ensure no items have passed their sell-by date.
-
Restock merchandise as needed to maximize sales opportunities.
-
Follow up on customer queries regarding out-of-stock items and ensure they are addressed promptly.
-
Store and pack delivered stock or stock from the storeroom in the correct spaces.
-
Ensure that all merchandise displays, labels, and pricing are accurate, and report any discrepancies to management.

Maintain an organized and tidy storeroom.
-
Stay informed about new products to assist customers effectively.
-
Assist with restocking merchandise and supplies to drive sales.
-
Handle back shopping as required.
-
Ensure merchandise is handled carefully to prevent losses.
-
Process all payments accurately, including cash, cards, vouchers, and coupons.
-
Exchange merchandise and process returns when authorized by the Frontshop Leader.

Process loyalty cards, including those of accelerated partners.
-
Place cash securely in the drop safe following standard operating procedures.

Ensure that all line voids and price changes are signed off by the Frontshop Leader or Retail Store Assistant.

Maintain accurate cash flow at all times.
-
Regularly rotate stock and adhere to Dis-Chem’s stock control procedures.
-
Report low stock levels, out-of-stock items, damaged stock, and expired stock to management.

Assist with stock counting and general stocktaking.
-
Report damaged or expired stock immediately.
-
Assist with the loading and off-loading of stock when needed.
-
Ensure that unpacked boxes are flattened and placed in the designated area.
-
Build and maintain professional relationships with customers, providing friendly, helpful, and courteous assistance.

Report customer compliments and complaints to management.
-
Meet customer turnover per hour rate as per company benchmarks.

Assist with training new and existing team members.
-
Ensure outgoing stock/items/scripts are scanned and paid for.
-
Keep daily takings (cash, cheques, vouchers, card slips, line voids, and incomplete dockets) securely in the till drawer until placed in the drop safe.

Report any suspicious or inappropriate behavior from staff or customers to management.

Maintain housekeeping standards in accordance with Dis-Chem policies.
-
Follow Dis-Chem’s policies and standard operating procedures, including health and safety rules and regulations.

Adhere to the company’s uniform and personal appearance policy.
