Job Purpose
Spar is seeking a skilled Category Manager to oversee the full product portfolio, ensuring optimal replenishment, margin management, pricing, and promotions for both DC and Dropshipment products. This role includes managing daily reporting, supplier relationships, and driving sales through strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Achieve budgeted sales targets and gross profit for DC and Retail.

Manage stock levels to align with budgeted requirements.

Oversee inbound supplier service levels and KVI price management.

Drive sales, manage expenses, and recoveries according to budget.

Manage gross profit percentages per category and supplier recoveries.

Verify pricing claims for drop shipment and direct suppliers.

Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Align supplier strategy with DC strategy.

Monitor and manage dog line products.
-
Replenish stock at competitive prices and maintain warehouse stock levels.

Utilize AS400 for data management and reporting.

Build relationships with retailers to negotiate deals.

Drive sales through innovation, special promotions, and advertising/consumer trends.
Qualifications & Experience

National Senior Certificate (Matric) required.

National Certificate/Diploma in Marketing Management, Purchasing, or Commerce is recommended.

Valid driver’s license.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in FMCG buying or category management.

SAP experience advantageous.
