Dischem Vacancies – Clinic Practitioner – Midrand
Dis-Chem is seeking a qualified Clinic Practitioner to join their team in Vorna Valley. The main purpose of the role is to manage and operate a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic located within a pharmacy, while practicing within the scope of a registered nursing practitioner.
Minimum Requirements:
Essential:
-
Grade 12 / Matric
-
Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
-
Degree/Diploma in Midwifery
-
Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
-
BHF registration required for nursing practitioners
-
2-3 years of experience practicing as a Primary Health Care Clinic Practitioner
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Advantageous:
-
Minimum 5 years of experience practicing as a Primary Health Care Clinic Practitioner
-
Familiarity with Patient Record Systems, CKS, and Allegra
Job Description:
-
Perform Clinic Practitioner duties in accordance with industry regulations and best practices.
-
Manage clinic objectives, including improving the “feet-per-hour” rate, to enhance patient satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Ensure all clinic services are available as per the operational schedule.
-
Keep accurate patient records and ensure timely follow-up communication.
-
Ensure the clinic operates according to the established hours and procedures.
-
Process claims accurately and in a timely manner, in line with industry standards.
-
Maintain the functionality of stock and equipment in the clinic to industry standards.
-
Ensure sufficient stock levels based on business requirements.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including patients, the Store and Dispensary Manager, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers, and healthcare partners.
Competencies:
Essential:
-
Knowledge in community health nursing, primary health care, and occupational health nursing, including family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS counseling (pre- and post-), breastfeeding, pathology, and wound care.

Commitment to quarterly CPD training and in-service training with Dis-Chem.

Strong command of English (written and oral).

Understanding of the financial implications of meeting or failing to meet set targets.

Strong analytical skills in relation to clinic statistics and performance.

Emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial mindset, trustworthiness, and honesty.

Ability to manage and motivate a team while being self-directed and self-motivated.

Excellent time management skills.
Advantageous:

Bilingual.

Knowledge of business objectives and operational requirements.

Certifications in Baby Immunisation (DoH/Sanofi Pasteur), Family Planning (DoH), Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, and Disease Management.
