Dischem Vacancies – Clinic Practitioner
Dis-Chem is looking for a qualified Clinic Practitioner to join their team at Westrand Baby City. The primary purpose of this position is to manage and operate a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic located within a pharmacy, while practicing within the scope of a registered nursing practitioner.
Minimum Requirements:
Essential:
-
Grade 12 / Matric
-
Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
-
Degree/Diploma in Midwifery
-
Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
-
BHF registration required for nursing practitioners
-
2-3 years of experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Practitioner
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Advantageous:
-
Minimum 5 years of experience practicing as a Primary Health Care Clinic Practitioner
-
Familiarity with Patient Record Systems, CKS, and Allegra
Job Description:
-
Perform Clinic Practitioner duties in line with industry regulations and best practices.
-
Manage the average “feet-per-hour” rate and set clinic objectives to enhance patient satisfaction and clinic efficiency.

Ensure all clinic services are available and operational during scheduled hours.
-
Maintain accurate records of patient details and ensure timely follow-up communication.
-
Process claims accurately and promptly, in compliance with industry standards.
-
Ensure all stock and equipment in the clinic are in good working condition and comply with industry standards.

Monitor stock levels to ensure the clinic is adequately supplied based on business needs.

Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, the Store and Dispensary Manager, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers, community healthcare providers, and other key stakeholders.
Competencies:
Essential:
-
Knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, occupational health nursing, family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, and wound care.

Quarterly CPD training and in-service training with Dis-Chem.

Strong command of English (written and oral).

Understanding of the financial implications of meeting or failing to meet set monthly targets.

Strong analytical skills related to monthly clinic statistics and commission.

Emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial flair, trustworthiness, and honesty.

Ability to manage both a team and individual tasks with self-motivation.

Time management and organizational skills.
Advantageous:

Bilingual.

Knowledge and understanding of business objectives.

Certification in Baby Immunisation (DoH/Sanofi Pasteur), Family Planning (DoH), Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, and Disease Management courses.
Special Conditions of Employment:
