Dischem Vacancies – Customer Consultant – Port Shepstone
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a dedicated Customer Consultant for their new Port Shepstone store. The role involves interacting with customers, providing information about products and services, and addressing any customer complaints or concerns.
Minimum Requirements:
Essential:
-
Grade 12 / Matric (with at least 60% in English, Afrikaans, and Maths Literacy)
-
At least 1 year of experience in administration or public relations
-
Strong communication and customer interaction skills
-
Computer literate (MS Office)
-
Willing and able to work retail hours
Advantageous:

Qualification in Administration, Customer Service, or Public Relations

Third additional language
-
SAP experience
Job Description:
-
Ensure accurate data capturing and completion of documentation.
-
Check card balances, card reports, and/or statements for customers.
-
Manage daily and weekly inventory control of cards, magazines, application forms, baby bags, travel kits, promotional items, partner goody bags, free gifts, and other promotional materials.

Ensure accurate processing of transactions (TRMS – capturing and reporting).
-
Manage stock control and shrinkage.
-
Handle checkpoint reversals on statements.
-
Verify manual point allocations on card reports and statements, ensuring all manual allocations are submitted to the Admin Manager daily.

Facilitate effective internal communication within the customer service and benefits program teams.
-
Escalate compliments, complaints, and product sourcing issues to Senior or Regional Customer Consultants.

Manage and report complaints and compliments through the customer service diary.
-
Ensure effective external communication regarding customer feedback.
-
Respond to written or email queries on various platforms.
-
Keep the Store Manager and relevant employees informed of all aspects related to the benefits program.

Maintain excellent telephone etiquette according to Dis-Chem’s SOPs.

Accurately recruit and capture customer information.
-
Coordinate and manage in-store events and promotions.
-
Serve as the central point of contact for all general queries, compliments, and complaints.
-
Assist customers with any queries and refer them to the appropriate departments when needed.

Ensure visibility of Benefits Programme signage and current promotional signage at the customer service help desk or till points.

Be visible on the store floor and assist as needed when a second Customer Consultant relieves you.

Provide relevant benefits program training to all departments and ensure proper implementation.

Adhere to Dis-Chem’s policies, procedures, SOPs, and health and safety rules.
