Pepkor Vacancies – Data Analyst Contractor

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst Contractor to join our team. This role involves developing, maintaining, and administering reports, with a focus on financial data, and providing technical support related to Business Intelligence (BI) tools and general data requests. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of retail data and experience within cloud environments, such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar.​

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy new BI reports using tools such as Business Objects, Looker Studio, QlikView, and Google Sheets.

  • Provide accurate information on requirements to Pepkor IT; manage contract delivery and costs, and oversee IT priorities and delivery.

  • Ensure an accurate understanding of user reporting needs to be reflected in specifications and variables.

  • Identify and implement improvements for current reports.

  • Maintain and enhance existing BI reports.

  • Oversee the structure and administration of reports, emphasizing financial data integrity and retail data consistency.

  • Develop training materials and facilitate training for users.

  • Provide ongoing internal customer support.

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Data Analyst in a retail environment.

  • Functional knowledge of PL/SQL/MySQL.

  • Ability to develop reports using BI tools (Business Objects, Looker Studio, QlikView).

  • Experience in designing data models to support reporting requirements.

  • Understanding of relational databases.

  • Advanced computer literacy.

  • Knowledge of SAP Web Intelligence (Business Objects) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is ideal.
