Clover is currently seeking a Delivery Services Manager to optimize deliveries to customers. This role, based at the Clover Clayville branch, offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead and manage delivery operations, ensuring customer satisfaction and cost-efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Fluent in Business English

  • Availability for off-site travel and overnight stays

  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

  • Experience in working with senior management

  • Advanced computer literacy

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage Subordinates:

  • Conduct performance management for team members

  • Manage disciplinary actions in accordance with company procedures

  • Plan and manage staff leave

  • Oversee the training and development of subordinates

  • Hire staff as needed

  • Lead departmental meetings (Safety, Shop Stewards, Steercom)

Ensure Effective Deliveries and Cost Control:

  • Optimize delivery routes for efficiency

  • Ensure deliveries are carried out according to standard operating procedures

  • Manage and control departmental fixed costs and report any variances

  • Compile personnel and fixed cost budgets

  • Develop cost-effective models to reduce cost per load (C/L)

Manage Customer Relations:

  • Conduct customer surveys and implement industry best practices

  • Address customer queries and resolve complaints

  • Foster positive relationships with both internal and external customers

  • Assist with internal and external audits

Manage Safety:

  • Ensure the department complies with the Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) Act

  • Uphold security standards in line with company policies and procedures
