Lactalis South Africa is seeking a Demand Planning Manager to be based at its Western Cape offices. This role plays a critical part in aligning Commercial and Supply Chain functions to ensure customer demand is accurately anticipated and fulfilled. The successful candidate will lead the demand planning team, focusing on improving forecast accuracy, streamlining planning processes, and supporting overall business performance through integrated business planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the development and accuracy of sales forecasts used for short-term supply planning and long-term volume projections.

• Provide input into financial forecasts, capacity reviews, and critical raw material allocation, including raw milk requirements.

• Drive the maturity and effectiveness of the Integrated Business Planning (S&OP) process, with a focus on continuous improvement of systems, processes, and dashboards.

• Lead weekly Demand Review sessions with the Commercial team to support decision-making and improve forecast reliability.

• Enhance promotional volume planning in collaboration with Commercial, ensuring effective volume phasing.

• Encourage adoption of data analytics and business intelligence tools to enhance supply chain decision-making.

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and skills development within the demand planning team.

Requirements

• A relevant degree in BCom, Supply Chain Management, or Industrial Engineering.

• 5 to 8 years of experience in supply chain, with strong exposure to demand planning.

• Experience in data analytics is an advantage.

• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal and presentation capabilities.

• A resilient, adaptable, and self-managed individual with a collaborative approach.
