Fidelity Vacancies – Divisional Fire Officer

Fidelity Services Group is seeking a qualified and experienced Divisional Fire Officer to manage and oversee fire operations within a designated geographic area. This senior management role is responsible for leading firefighting efforts, ensuring operational readiness, overseeing personnel, and maintaining fire safety standards across the division.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Oversight

  • Lead and supervise fire operations across the assigned division

  • Ensure all firefighting and emergency response vehicles are operational and well-maintained

  • Manage response to emergencies including large-scale fires, natural disasters, and hazardous incidents

  • Enforce adherence to fire safety protocols during emergency operations

Personnel Management

  • Oversee firefighters, fire officers, and supporting staff

  • Conduct performance reviews and coordinate training programs

  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations

  • Manage personnel matters including scheduling, promotions, and discipline

Training and Development

  • Plan and implement continuous training initiatives

  • Assess training outcomes and recommend enhancements

  • Ensure teams are trained on the latest techniques, equipment, and safety standards

Administrative Duties

  • Compile reports on fire incidents, operational activities, and staff performance

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant fire safety regulations

Community and Interagency Engagement

  • Collaborate with local municipalities and community stakeholders to improve public safety

  • Address community concerns regarding fire risk and prevention

  • Act as liaison between the department and other emergency services such as police and EMS

  • Participate in joint emergency exercises and disaster planning initiatives

Minimum Requirements

  • A four-year tertiary qualification such as a National Diploma or Level 4 qualification in Fire Technology, Fire Science, Operations, Safety, or Management

  • Minimum of 7 years in a supervisory capacity as a Station Commander or equivalent level

  • Certified in Fire Officer I, II, or III; Pump Operator; Vehicle and Rope Rescue; Incident Management; and related certifications

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage high-pressure emergency situations

  • Strong communication and administrative capabilities

  • Comfortable working in both operational field settings and office environments
