Job Description:
The EHS Specialist is responsible for leading and assisting management throughout the region in implementing the EHS Management System and driving cultural change. The goal is to minimize accidents, injuries, and environmental damage by promoting compliance with statutory, company, and customer EHS requirements.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
4-6 years’ experience in Environmental Health & Safety Management, specifically in Construction and Subcontractor management.
Completion of related Environmental Health & Safety certificates or equivalent courses (e.g., RCAT & Risk Management, Environmental Health & Safety Management, etc.).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet).
Skilled in delivering training programs, presentations, and developing policies and procedures.
Valid Driver’s License.
A Diploma or related qualification in EHS Management is an advantage.
Main Duties:
Drive a culture of “Zero Harm to People and the Environment” across the region.
Build strong working relationships to support managers in consistently implementing the company’s EHS Policy and Management System.
Provide leadership, mentoring, guidance, and development to the regional EHS team.
Promote the integration of EHS into business planning and assist in establishing EHS management performance measures.
Develop and implement regional and national EHS projects, processes, and procedures.
Implement and monitor the Risk Assessment and Control System throughout the region.
Ensure compliance with the Contractor Management Program across the region.
Assist in investigating and managing accidents, incidents, and near misses.
Develop and coordinate the delivery of EHS training programs.
Coordinate the implementation of occupational rehabilitation and the Injury Management Program.
Stay updated on legislative changes and emerging issues, communicating them to the business.
Coordinate and assist with audits.
Collaborate internally with EHS professionals and externally with industry, statutory, and professional bodies.
Travel within the region as required.
