About the Program
Rand Water is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Team Leader to oversee the administration and support services of Rand Water’s Employee Benefits Administration Company. The role ensures the effective day-to-day management of business activities, including claims processing, system management, and team leadership, enabling Employee Benefits to achieve its strategic objectives.
Minimum Requirements
- National Senior Certificate with Mathematics
- Post-matric qualification at NQF Level 6
- Higher certificate or diploma in Retirement Fund Administration or equivalent
- Supervisor certification
- FSCA Trustee Toolkit Phase 1 & 2 certification
- PFA/FSCA legislative knowledge, including Section 14 Administration and application of Section 37C & 37D
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the retirement industry, including retirement systems management and management reporting
- Valid driver’s license
Primary Duties
- Perform fiduciary duties as a registered Administrator under the Pension Fund Act
- Administer a self-administered defined contribution fund
- Manage Employee Benefits (EB) system maintenance and disability claims
- Oversee TIP payments and reconciliations, ensuring Service Level Agreements with service providers are met
- Implement ISO 9001 QMS processes and procedures
- Ensure compliance with Section 37C & 37D of the PFA and proper management of savings claims
- Conduct inductions for new entrants, investment roadshows, and member education sessions

- Membership communication, roadshows, and inductions
- In-depth knowledge of PFA, Divorce Act, Maintenance Act, Income Tax Act, Insurance Act, and Section 14 transfers

- Effective Employee Benefits administration for a 13B license holder
- Leadership and conflict management
- Report writing and communication skills
- Education and guidance of fund members
- Application of relevant legislation in daily processes

- Professional, ethical, fair, and assertive
- Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal skills in English and another language
- Ability to engage professionally with legal institutions
