Purpose of the Job:
Engen Limited is seeking a skilled Engineering Technician to oversee engineering projects and maintenance at our Retail Service Stations. The role involves ensuring that all design, construction, and maintenance operations of Engen’s physical assets and facilities meet company and regulatory standards, with a strong focus on safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage engineering projects from concept to implementation, including design, costing, procurement, and final execution.
- Conduct on-site investigations and provide maintenance solutions for pipelines, valves, meters, and other water reticulation equipment.
- Liaise with various internal departments and external contractors to ensure projects are completed according to Engen’s standards.
- Ensure that all designs are in compliance with HSE, legal, cost, and efficiency objectives.
- Oversee third-party contractors, ensuring adherence to technical, financial, HSE, and quality standards.
- Prepare capital and operational cost estimates and perform cost-risk assessments for effective project decision-making.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (NQF Level 6) or equivalent.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in engineering, preferably within the petroleum or a similar industry.
- Proven experience managing projects through all stages, including concept, design, procurement, and implementation.
- Strong knowledge of fault-finding and troubleshooting in engineering systems.
- Proficiency in SAP R3 and project management software.
- Valid Code 8 driver’s license.
- Experience in managing third-party contractors and ensuring project compliance with safety and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Petrochemical Industry Standards and experience in design, costing, and tendering.
- Advanced facilitation, consulting skills, and the ability to network and manage stakeholders effectively.
- Experience with SAP PM and capability development tools.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity in a dynamic work environment.
