Job Description
As a Fitter: Culinary, you will be responsible for maintaining engineering equipment to world-class standards while providing support to the Maintenance Coordinator. Your role will involve embedding maintenance processes within the organization, ensuring the integrity of the plant, and maintaining, repairing, and optimizing plant equipment to ensure availability and product quality at minimum cost.
Responsibilities
You will:

Provide specialist support to shift-based teams during operations, offering functional expertise to solve problems when needed.

Participate in carrying out repairs on plant equipment, ensuring efficient and timely repairs.

Apply effective problem-solving approaches to resolve issues during routine activities.

Take part in maintenance planning meetings, offering suggestions and clarifying work required.

Operate in a safe manner at all times and identify unsafe work practices, ensuring they are corrected.

Ensure plant availability of >95% at all times.

Ensure compliance with all standards and contractual requirements.
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring to the Table

Core knowledge of maintenance systems, engineering standards, and high-speed packaging machinery.

A qualified fitter with experience in relevant maintenance activities.
Essential Skills & Qualifications

Academic: Minimum requirement is NTC3, with matric maths and science. Analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and high numeracy skills are essential.

Leadership: Ability to drive long-term results and stay ahead in the field.

Personal Effectiveness: Effective communication, strong interpersonal skills, integrity, creativity, and a commitment to continuous learning.
Experience
-
At least 5 years of experience in the function, with around 1 year in an FMCG environment.
