Job Description:
-
Ensure that full product ranges are stocked on the shelves and neatly presented at all times.
-
Monitor stock levels to ensure products have not reached their sell-by date.
-
Restock merchandise as needed to maximize sales opportunities.
-
Follow up on all out-of-stock customer queries, in line with the customer service out-of-stock list, and resolve them promptly.

Ensure that stock pulled from the storeroom or delivered is stored and packed correctly.
-
Maintain accurate displays, labels, and pricing on merchandise, and report any price discrepancies to management.
-
Keep the storeroom organized, neat, and tidy.
-
Stay updated on new product knowledge to assist customers effectively.
-
Help with restocking merchandise and supplies to ensure maximum sales.
-
Assist with back shopping when required.
-
Handle merchandise carefully to prevent losses.
-
Process all transactions, verify payments (cash, cards, vouchers, coupons, etc.), and ensure accurate cash flow.

Exchange merchandise and accept returns when authorized by the Frontshop Leader.

Process all loyalty cards, including those of accelerated partners.
-
Follow cash handling procedures, ensuring that cash is placed in the drop safe according to standard operating procedures.

Ensure all price changes and line voids are approved and signed by a Frontshop Leader and/or Retail Store Assistant.

Facilitate regular stock rotation and adhere to Dis-Chem’s stock control procedures.

Report low stock levels, out-of-stock items, damaged stock, and expired stock to management.

Assist with stock counts and general stocktaking.
-
Report damaged and expired stock immediately to management.
-
Assist with the loading and off-loading of stock when necessary.
-
Flatten boxes after unpacking stock and dispose of them in the designated area.
-
Build and maintain professional relationships with customers, offering friendly, helpful, and courteous assistance.

Report customer compliments and complaints to management.
-
Ensure customer turnover per hour rates are met as per company benchmarks.

Assist with training new and current team members.
-
Ensure outgoing stock/items/scripts are scanned and paid for.
-
Secure daily takings (cash, cheques, vouchers, card slips, line voids, and incomplete dockets) in the till drawer until they are placed in the drop safe.

Report suspicious behavior from staff or customers to management.

Maintain housekeeping standards in accordance with Dis-Chem’s guidelines.
-
Adhere to Dis-Chem policies, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety regulations, and uniform policies.
