Job Description:
-
Ensure full product ranges are on the shelves at all times and presented neatly.
-
Monitor stock on shelves to ensure it hasn’t reached its sell-by date.
-
Restock merchandise as needed to maximize sales.
-
Follow up on out-of-stock customer queries in line with the customer service out-of-stock list and resolve them promptly.
-
Ensure delivered stock and stock from the storeroom are stored and packed in the correct areas.
-
Maintain accurate merchandise displays, labels, and pricing, and report any discrepancies to management.
-
Keep the storeroom organized, neat, and tidy.
-
Stay up-to-date with new product knowledge to assist customers effectively.
-
Assist with restocking of merchandise and supplies when needed.
-
Help with back shopping when required.
-
Handle merchandise carefully to prevent loss.
-
Process all purchases, verify payments (cash, cards, vouchers, coupons, etc.).
-
Process exchanges and returns of merchandise when authorized by the Frontshop Leader.

Handle loyalty cards, including those of accelerated partners.
-
Follow cash handling procedures, ensuring cash is placed in the drop safe according to standard operating procedures.

Ensure line voids and price changes are approved and signed by a Frontshop Leader and/or Retail Store Assistant.

Ensure accurate cash flow at all times.

Facilitate stock rotation and adhere to Dis-Chem stock control procedures.

Report low stock levels, out-of-stock items, damaged stock, and expired stock to management.

Assist with stock counts and general stocktaking.
-
Report damaged and expired stock to management immediately.
-
Assist with loading and off-loading of stock when necessary.
-
Flatten boxes after unpacking stock and take them to the designated area.

Establish a professional relationship with customers, offering friendly, helpful, and courteous assistance.

Report customer compliments and complaints to management.
-
Meet customer turnover per hour rates as per company benchmarks.

Assist with the training of new and current team members.
-
Ensure outgoing stock/items/scripts are scanned and paid for.
-
Keep daily takings (cash, cheques, vouchers, card slips, line voids, and incomplete dockets) in the till drawer until placed in the drop safe.

Report suspicious behavior by staff or customers to management.

Ensure housekeeping is in accordance with Dis-Chem standards.

Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety rules, and uniform and personal appearance policies.
