Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is seeking a highly experienced Group Lead: Safety to join the Supply Chain department. This strategic leadership role will be responsible for driving the enterprise-wide safety vision, ensuring regulatory compliance, fostering a culture of safety, and embedding world-class safety systems across all CCBA markets. The successful candidate will report to the Group Head: Safety, Health, Environment & Quality.
CCBA is the largest Coca-Cola bottler in Africa, responsible for 40% of Coca-Cola volumes across the continent. As a market leader in the Non-Alcoholic Ready-To-Drink (NARTD) sector, CCBA operates across multiple African countries, employing over 17,000 people and serving more than 300 million consumers. Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design and execution of CCBA’s group-wide safety strategy, ensuring alignment with global best practices and business objectives.

Ensure full regulatory compliance across all operations and establish robust governance and audit structures.

Promote a proactive safety culture through leadership engagement, behavioral safety programs, and cross-functional accountability.

Track and report key safety performance indicators, including LTIFR and TRIR, and oversee the timely analysis of incidents and near-misses.

Drive effective incident investigation and root cause analysis processes with an emphasis on learning and continuous improvement.

Build safety capability across the organization through structured training, coaching, toolkits, and best practice sharing.

Implement and maintain safety management systems such as ISO 45001, ensuring consistent standards across all CCBA markets.

Collaborate with operations, logistics, HR, and SHEQ functions to integrate safety into business planning and decision-making.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, or SAMTRAC are highly advantageous.

Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) will be considered an added advantage.
Experience:

Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in safety, with at least 5 years in a senior role spanning multiple sites or countries in manufacturing, logistics, or FMCG.

Demonstrated success in rolling out and sustaining enterprise-wide safety systems in complex environments.

Strong experience in incident investigation, compliance audits, and system implementation aligned to ISO standards.
