Dischem Vacancies – Health Consultants Talent Pool

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is building a Health Consultants Talent Pool to identify and pre-screen individuals specializing in Vitamins and Supplements for future job opportunities across various stores. The purpose of this talent pool is to ensure a ready group of qualified candidates who possess the skills and qualifications needed for potential roles within Dis-Chem Pharmacies.

Purpose of the role: Health Consultants will be responsible for effectively promoting and selling Dis-Chem Health Focus products while providing consistent customer service to meet customer needs.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

  • Grade 12 / Matric

  • Minimum of 6 months’ sales experience in a Vitamins / Health environment

  • Strong command of the English language

  • Computer literate – MS Office

  • Sound numerical skills

  • Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous:

  • Qualification in BSc Biomedicine and/or BSc Biotechnology, or a relevant qualification in the health focus field

  • Sales experience in a retail environment

  • Experience in the health industry (vitamins, supplements, or health foods)

  • Fluency in a second language spoken in the area

Job Description:

  • Assist and advise customers to ensure the highest levels of customer care and service.

  • Support the effective operation of the department and store, including assisting with back shopping when needed.

  • Keep merchandise displays in the health focus area well-stocked and presented.

  • Report any price discrepancies to management as they arise.

  • Adhere to the store layouts and standards within the Health Department.

  • Ensure that broadsheet items are properly displayed, promoted, and available.

  • Implement promotional displays and merchandising materials.

  • Meet monthly team, brand, and vendor targets.

  • Stay updated on new products and product lines.

  • Follow administrative processes, including stock control, weekly returns, and monitoring stock levels within the Health Department.

Competencies:

Essential:

  • Strong skills in promotions and personal selling

  • Excellent customer service abilities

  • Strong command of the English language

  • Ability to analyze basic reports

  • Team player with effective time management

  • Honest, trustworthy, and reliable

Advantageous:

  • Product knowledge and stock control experience

  • Bilingual capabilities

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Willing and able to work retail hours

  • Physically fit and able to handle tasks such as walking, standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, and lifting

  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
