Dischem Vacancies – Health Merchandiser – Hemmingways – East London

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Health Merchandiser for their Hemmingways store. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper execution and maintenance of Dis-Chem’s basic merchandising standards while delivering exceptional customer service.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

  • Grade 12 / Matric

  • Up to 6 months of retail experience

  • Computer literate – MS Office

  • Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous:

  • Diploma or degree within the Health Focus category

  • At least 1 year of retail experience

Job Specifications:

  • Restock merchandise in line with business requirements.

  • Ensure that delivered stock or stock pulled from the storeroom is stored and packed correctly.

  • Maintain a full range of products on the shelves at all times.

  • Facilitate regular stock rotation using the First In, First Out (FIFO) method.

  • Assist with general stocktaking and inventory management.

  • Ensure that front shop shelves and products are neatly presented with correct labels and pricing.

  • Build, face up, stock, and maintain merchandising displays.

  • Ensure the daily upkeep of the store and merchandise displays, taking responsibility for your designated stock both in the storeroom and on the shop floor.

  • Assist with back shopping when required.

  • Address and resolve all customer stock queries promptly.

Competencies:

Essential:

  • Strong command of the English language

  • Presentable appearance

  • Effective communication with customers, management, and staff

  • Trustworthy and honest

  • Good time management skills

Advantageous:

  • Bilingual

  • Knowledge of merchandising standards and the FMCG industry

  • Product and category knowledge

  • Ability to analyze ZMORE reports for ordering and stocktaking

  • Experience with SAP and Unisolv

  • Ability to report bad or suspicious behavior related to staff and customers

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Willing and able to work retail hours

  • Physically fit to lift and move heavy boxes and ensure health and safety standards are adhered to

  • Reliable transport and/or reside in close proximity to the store

  • South African citizen
