Dischem Vacancies – Health Merchandiser – Hemmingways

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Health Merchandiser for their Hemmingways store. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper execution and maintenance of Dis-Chem’s merchandising standards, while providing excellent customer service.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

  • Grade 12 / Matric

  • Up to 6 months’ retail experience

  • Computer literate – MS Office

  • Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous:

  • Diploma or degree in a health-focused category

  • At least 1 year of retail experience

Job Specification:

  • Restock merchandise according to business requirements.

  • Ensure that delivered stock and stock pulled from the storeroom are correctly stored and packed.

  • Keep a full range of products on the shelves at all times.

  • Implement regular stock rotation using the First In, First Out (FIFO) method.

  • Assist with general stocktaking.

  • Maintain neatly presented front shop shelves and products with accurate labels and pricing.

  • Build, face up, stock, and maintain merchandising displays.

  • Oversee the daily upkeep of the store and merchandise displays, ensuring that your designated stock areas (both in-store and in the storeroom) are well-organized.

  • Assist with back shopping as required.

  • Address and resolve all customer stock queries efficiently.

Competencies:

Essential:

  • Strong command of the English language

  • Presentable and professional

  • Effective communication with customers, management, and staff

  • Trustworthy and honest

  • Time management skills

Advantageous:

  • Bilingual

  • Knowledge of merchandising standards and the FMCG industry

  • Product and category knowledge

  • Ability to analyze ZMORE reports for ordering and stock taking

  • Ability to report suspicious or inappropriate behavior from staff or customers

  • SAP and Unisolv experience

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Willing and able to work retail hours

  • Physically fit to lift and move heavy boxes while ensuring adherence to health and safety standards

  • Reliable transport and/or reside in close proximity to the store

  • South African citizen
