Flysafair Careers – HR Specialist

FlySafair, South Africa’s leading low-cost airline, is currently recruiting for an experienced and detail-oriented HR Specialist focusing on Systems and Analytics. This role is based at our head office in Bonaero Park and reports directly to the Manager: HR. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining HR systems, driving data-driven decision-making, and ensuring compliance across HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain HR Information Systems (HRIS) and related technology platforms

  • Collaborate with HR and IT teams to implement system upgrades, integrations, and improvements

  • Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and serve as a key contact for system users

  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and security of employee data within all HR systems

  • Develop and enforce data standards, documentation, and governance practices

  • Create and maintain HR dashboards and analytical reports on key metrics

  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities that inform HR strategies

  • Support HR projects and respond to HR-related inquiries and reporting needs

  • Contribute data and insights to monthly reports for HR and corporate leadership

  • Ensure systems and processes comply with legislative and organizational requirements

  • Assist with audits and statutory submissions related to employment equity, BBBEE, and skills development

  • Provide training to HR team members and end-users on systems and analytics tools

  • Align systems and reporting practices with cross-functional teams

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent (essential)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar HR Specialist role (essential)

  • Hands-on experience working with HRIS platforms (essential)

  • Proven project management experience and familiarity with system implementation or migration (advantageous)

  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, data privacy, and compliance regulations

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and data visualization tools

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills

  • Ability to transform complex data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making

  • High attention to detail, adaptability, and a problem-solving mindset
