Parmalat Vacancies – IT Senior BI Developer

Parmalat, part of the Lactalis Group, is looking for an experienced IT Senior BI Developer to join the team at our Stellenbosch, Cape Town office. This role is responsible for the full BI development cycle, data warehouse design, and delivery of business intelligence solutions that support strategic decision-making across the organisation, including Rest of Africa operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end BI solutions, including the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of data warehouses and BI dashboards

  • Design and implement data models, dimensional modelling, and architecture to support business requirements

  • Develop ETL processes using SSIS at an advanced level for data integration

  • Build and optimise database tables using SQL and T-SQL for complex query writing

  • Develop presentation layers using SSAS and tabular models

  • Design and maintain reports and dashboards using Microsoft BI tools, Excel, and QlikSense

  • Translate business needs into clear technical specifications and BI solutions

  • Continuously evaluate and enhance existing BI systems and reporting processes

  • Develop and maintain business and technical documentation

  • Train users and promote BI adoption across business units

  • Support the establishment of a Power BI practice that enables self-service analytics

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant IT degree or diploma

  • At least 7 years of proven experience working within the full Microsoft BI Stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)

  • Strong SQL and T-SQL skills with hands-on experience in database design and query optimisation

  • Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas)

  • Experience with QlikSense and other data visualisation tools

  • SAP BW experience is an added advantage

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a solid understanding of financial data

  • Ability to prioritise tasks across multiple stakeholders and perform in a high-pressure environment
