Job Description
Fidelity Services Group is seeking motivated Junior Firefighters to join their team in responding to fire-related incidents and emergency operations. This role is vital to protecting the lives and property of the clients within the Fidelity Group. The Junior Firefighter will engage in firefighting, emergency rescue services, basic medical care, fire prevention activities, and the operation and maintenance of firefighting equipment.
Key Responsibilities

Respond to fire incidents, rescues, and other emergency or non-emergency situations.

Handle hazardous substance incidents and participate in emergency rescues.

Perform casualty extrication and other emergency operations as directed by senior officers.

Provide basic medical treatment to injured persons.

Operate firefighting equipment to manage and extinguish fires.

Perform fire protection duties in high-risk situations, ensuring equipment is available as needed.

Prepare for emergency situations under the guidance of seniors and officers.

Participate in training drills, physical fitness exercises, and fire safety training.

Advise on preventative fire safety measures and corrective actions.

Ensure the safety and security of data, people, institutions, and property by using proper equipment and procedures.

Perform basic maintenance on firefighting equipment and ensure operational readiness.

Maintain records of daily occurrences via computerized logs.

Conduct health and safety inspections to ensure a safe work environment.

Participate in departmental health and safety meetings and documentation.

Operate and drive specialized firefighting vehicles and machinery during emergency incidents.

Assist with fire safety training, inspections, and life safety education.

Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act during shifts, ensuring proper safety measures are followed.

Complete administrative routines as per departmental policies and maintain prescribed records.
Qualifications and Experience

Grade 12 as a minimum educational qualification.
-
IFSAC Accredited.
-
NFPA 1001 Firefighter II Certification.
-
At least 2-3 years of relevant firefighting experience.
-
Valid Code C1 driver’s license with PrDP.
-
Advanced driving experience is advantageous.
-
Medically and physically fit.

Solid understanding of fire prevention procedures and firefighting systems.

Knowledge of fire types, chemistry, and systems used for extinguishing fires.

Clear criminal record.
-
Ability to react efficiently in emergency situations.

Strong administrative, communication, and customer liaison skills.
-
Hazmat experience and knowledge is essential.
-
EMT certification and First Aid (Levels 1 to 3).
Core Competencies

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

In-depth knowledge of Hazmat guidelines.

Understanding of the security industry and adherence to regulatory standards.

Ability to apply firefighter instructor techniques in an operational setting.
