As a Leading Aviation Technician (Mechanical) at FlySafair, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency through comprehensive maintenance and inspection of aircraft. Your duties will include:
Conducting routine and non-routine inspections and maintenance on aircraft to ensure they meet the highest safety and operational standards.
Performing thorough daily inspections of the aircraft to identify any potential issues or defects.
Conducting fault finding and rectifying based on the identified faults.
Performing A-checks, including weekly service checks.
Ensuring all activities are properly recorded and signed off as per SACAA requirements, ensuring compliance with all legal aspects.
Adhering to established maintenance procedures and safety standards.
Maintaining the work area, equipment, and tooling to prevent accidents or incidents to aircraft and staff.
Applying analytical thinking and troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Communicating clearly and professionally to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of maintenance tasks.
Job Requirements:
Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential).
Licensed AME with a SACAA A & C License on B737; 300/400/500/800 (Advantageous).
Minimum of 12 years aviation experience (Essential).
Experience on GTCP131-9 and GTCP85-129 APU’s.
Heavy Maintenance experience.
Previous experience working on B737-400 and 800.
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and on public holidays.
Must be available and willing to travel at short notice, both locally and internationally.
Valid South African passport holder.
Sound understanding of technical aircraft publications and documentation.
Maintain a thorough understanding of aviation regulations and safety standards.
Excellent knowledge and troubleshooting experience on B737/400/800.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
