Job Description:
Positions are available for Lead/Senior Firefighters within the Fidelity Group to respond to and manage all fire-related incidents.
The primary responsibilities of this role include responding to fire incidents, firefighting, emergency rescue services, providing basic medical care, fire prevention, training activities, and operating and maintaining firefighting equipment. All tasks are aimed at protecting the lives and property of Fidelity Group clients.
Key Responsibilities:

Respond to fires, rescues, and emergency or non-emergency humanitarian incidents.

Handle incidents involving hazardous substances.
-
Extricate casualties and perform emergency operations as directed.
-
Provide resuscitation and treatment to injured individuals following prescribed procedures.

Operate a variety of equipment to manage and extinguish fires.
-
Undertake fire protection duties in situations that threaten lives or property.
-
Prepare for emergency incidents and protection duties under the guidance of senior staff.

Participate in training drills, simulation exercises, and physical fitness training.

Train relevant employees on the theory and practice required to fight fires.

Advise on preventative and corrective actions.

Implement procedures and use equipment to promote local or national security activities for the protection of people, data, and property.

Perform maintenance on firefighting equipment to ensure readiness.

Regularly check, clean, test, and maintain vehicles and equipment.

Maintain computerized logs for daily occurrences.
-
Conduct health and safety inspections to ensure a safe work environment.

Complete necessary documentation as per departmental policies.

Drive and operate heavy and specialized vehicles during emergency incidents.

Use machinery to hoist, lower, or gain access to buildings and/or extricate victims during emergencies.

Ensure that fire apparatus and emergency equipment are effectively operated and utilized.

Assist in Fire and Safety training, fire safety inspections, and life safety education.

Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and promote safety and loss prevention.

Ensure equipment maintenance schedules are adhered to and repairs are conducted as necessary.

Complete shift-related administrative tasks as per departmental policies.

Undertake supervisory duties and manage line personnel as required.
Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies:

Minimum Grade 12 qualification.
-
IFSAC Accredited.
-
NFPA 1001 Firefighter 2 certification.
-
Firefighter II Certification.
-
At least 2-3 years of firefighting training and related experience.

Valid code C1 driver’s license with PrDP.
-
Advanced driving experience is advantageous.

Medically and physically fit.
-
Strong understanding of fire prevention procedures.

Knowledge of firefighting systems, including fire classes and the chemistry of fire.

Clear criminal record.
-
Ability to react promptly in emergency situations.
-
Administration, communication, and customer liaison skills.
-
Hazmat experience and knowledge are essential.
-
EMT certification and First Aid levels 1-3.
Core Competencies:

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Sound understanding of Hazmat guidelines.

Knowledge of the security industry and adherence to group and regulatory codes of conduct.

Understanding of fundamental elements related to firefighter instructor applications in operational roles.
