Job Description
As a Logistics Controller at Tiger Brands, you will be responsible for managing various aspects of logistics operations. This includes overseeing the outbound and inbound logistics processes, ensuring compliance with safety standards, managing inventory accuracy, and controlling expenses. You will play a key role in coordinating and supervising operations to meet delivery requirements while ensuring efficient use of resources and maintaining product quality.
Responsibilities
Outbound:

Supervise and coordinate vehicle loading to meet delivery schedules.

Review the Open Orders Book daily.

Collaborate with the LCT Planner to confirm stock for the following day.

Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) principles are practiced to prevent write-offs in the warehouse.

Monitor and ensure that collecting customers follow the Collection SOP at all times.
Inbound:
-
Inspect all inbound stock for visible damage, expiry dates, and product condition upon receipt.

Ensure that all stock is Good Receipted correctly within 3 working days on Oracle.

Run and clear In-Transit reports in a timely manner.
Expenses:
-
Ensure all logistics-related expenses are kept within the budget.
-
Manage outsourced 3PL service providers.

Oversee timely processing of Purchase Orders and receipting.
-
Manage overtime and staff effectively.
Inventory:
-
Ensure stock count accuracy to 99.5%.
-
Supervise daily, weekly, and monthly stocktaking processes in line with SOPs.
-
Ensure stock movements to damage are processed promptly to avoid stock losses.
-
Maintain FIFO principles and ensure daily stock reconciliations.
Compliance:
-
Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene programs.
-
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and legal requirements at all times.
-
Develop and train employees in the distribution department, ensuring that all training requirements are budgeted for.
Qualifications
Key Professional Competencies
-
Core knowledge in Supply Chain KPIs, logistics administration, and operational requirements in an FMCG company, along with an understanding of food safety and HACCP requirements.

Academic: Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain, computer literacy, strong numerical ability, problem-solving skills, decision-making capabilities, and good communication skills.

Experience

3+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse stock management, with customer experience in retail and wholesale.

Experience in the FMCG food manufacturing industry.
