Standard Bank Careers – Manager Business Support
Standard Bank is looking for an experienced Manager, Business Support to provide expert guidance and strategic solutions across the end-to-end management of distressed debt exposures. This role supports Business, Commercial, Wealth, Investments, and Credit teams by developing and implementing effective remedial strategies in both informal and formal recovery environments, including matters under Business Rescue proceedings in line with the Companies Act.
The role focuses on supporting distressed clients within the Personal and Business Banking segments by working closely with Account Executives and Credit Evaluation Managers to manage high-risk exposures, improve recoveries, and maintain the integrity of the bank’s credit portfolio.
Minimum Qualifications

First Degree in Business Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or Legal
Experience Requirements

8–10 years of experience in the Personal and Business Banking, or Commercial Banking credit environment

Proven expertise in Credit Risk, Client Relationship Management, Risk Assessment, or Recoveries

Solid background in handling complex and large-scale remedial cases independently

Skilled in engaging directly with clients and other key stakeholders to drive resolution
Key Responsibilities

Lead remedial strategies for distressed debt exposures across assigned portfolios

Provide technical support to business units and credit teams on risk mitigation and restructuring

Engage with clients to understand their financial position and structure recovery plans

Collaborate with legal and compliance teams on Business Rescue matters and formal recovery processes

Deliver solutions that align with internal mandates, business objectives, and regulatory requirements

Evaluate business viability and advise on company valuations, dispute resolution, and legal recoveries
