Parmalat is seeking a qualified Millwright to join the team at our Ladismith Plant, reporting directly to the Technical Manager. The primary focus of this role is to perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment, involving both electrical and mechanical work, within a high-performance production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled electrical and mechanical maintenance on all plant equipment

• Conduct fault finding on PLC systems and resolve issues efficiently

• Complete all maintenance activities through the Pragma system, ensuring job cards and schedules are accurately and promptly updated

• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and legislative requirements during maintenance tasks

• Provide hands-on training and guidance to machine operators for minor maintenance during production

• Maintain clean work areas and properly store tools at the end of each shift

• Actively participate in quality and safety improvement initiatives, including addressing any related complaints in your area

• Maintain open communication with production teams regarding maintenance work and equipment breakdowns

• Support the Technical Manager and Engineering team in researching, trialing, and implementing new technologies

• Participate in business improvement programmes such as NOSA and FSSC 22000

• Be available for shift work, standby duties, as well as weekend and public holiday work when required

Minimum Requirements

• Trade-tested Millwright qualification

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an FMCG production environment

• Proven experience with electrical and mechanical maintenance

• Proficient in PLC fault finding

• High level of urgency, performance orientation, and a strong team player
